Overview of the California Digital Goods Disclosure Law
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
Latest Update: February 9, 2026
To ensure compliance with California’s law, AB-2426 Consumer Protection: False Advertising: Digital Goods, we are committed to providing transparent and clear information regarding the purchase, licensing, access, and use of digital goods. This policy applies to all digital course materials offered by eCampus.com and its associated brands.
This policy is intended to clearly disclose that digital goods are licensed, not sold, and to explain the scope, duration, and limitations of those licenses.
Licensing Information
When you purchase a digital product, you are acquiring a license for a specified period. Details about the duration and terms of each license are provided in the product description before purchase.
You do not obtain ownership of the digital content itself; you receive a limited, non-exclusive right to access and use the content as disclosed at the time of purchase.
Products labeled as “Lifetime” generally mean five (5) years of online access through eCampus.com.
All digital product licenses are non-transferable and may not be sold, assigned, shared, or gifted to another individual unless expressly stated otherwise in the product description.
Once purchased or redeemed, a digital license is linked to the purchaser’s eCampus.com account and cannot be reassigned.
How Digital Licenses Work: When a digital product is purchased or an access code is redeemed, the associated license (including access duration and permissions) is attached to the purchaser’s eCampus.com account and governs how the digital product may be accessed and used.
Downloads and Device Compatibility
You can download digital products to supported devices, which generally include the two most recent operating system versions recognized at the time of purchase.
“Lifetime” licenses typically include the ability to download the digital product to a supported device for continued access, subject to compatibility requirements.
Downloaded digital products will function only while the device, operating system, and platform remain compatible and supported.
eCampus.com is not responsible if future operating system updates, device changes, or technological advancements result in incompatibility with previously downloaded content.
Customers are responsible for maintaining a compatible device, operating system, and software environment in order to continue accessing downloaded digital products.
Certain features (such as printing, copying, offline access, or content availability) may be restricted by digital rights management (DRM) controls or publisher licensing terms and may vary by product.
Access Codes and Third-Party Products
Some products, including access codes and bundled digital materials, are provided by third-party publishers or vendors.
License duration, access rights, functionality, feature availability, and technical support for third-party products are governed by the third party’s terms, not eCampus.com’s terms.
eCampus.com facilitates the purchase of these products but does not control the third-party licensing terms, ongoing availability, or feature restrictions.
Returns
Due to the nature of digital goods, some items cannot be returned once revealed.
Any applicable return and refund eligibility, usage thresholds, time limits, or publisher-specific restrictions will be disclosed at the time of purchase or governed by the applicable refund policy.
