What is a Bookmark?
A bookmark lets you mark specific pages (or moments, in media content) so you can get back to them quickly without having to remember page numbers. In Scroll, bookmarks are easy to create, name, and manage.
How to Add a Bookmark
- Open the Content
Navigate to the book, audiobook, or video content in which you want to place a bookmark. - Go to the Page / Point You Want to Bookmark
- For books: turn to the page.
- For audio/video: move the play head to the spot you want to mark.
- Select the Bookmark Icon
Look for a bookmark-shaped icon (usually in the reader/player toolbar). - Name Your Bookmark (optional)
After selecting the icon, a small dialog should open letting you enter a name or note for the bookmark. This can help you remember why you bookmarked this spot. - Save the Bookmark
Press “Save” (or “Add Bookmark”) to store it. If you change your mind, choose “Cancel.” - Accessing Your Bookmark Later
- There’s usually a Bookmarks tab or panel in the reader / player interface.
- From there, you can see all your saved bookmarks.
- Select any bookmark to jump directly to that location in the content.
Tips & Best Practices
- Give meaningful bookmark names so you remember what you marked.
- Use bookmarks for key parts you’ll want to return to (e.g. study points, answers needed later, or particularly good passages).
- If you add lots of bookmarks, they can accumulate — occasionally clean up ones you no longer need.
- Make sure your device/app syncs properly so that bookmarks are available across all your devices.
Troubleshooting
- If selecting the bookmark icon doesn’t seem to work, check that your content has bookmarking enabled (publisher/settings sometimes restrict it).
- If bookmarks aren’t appearing in your list, ensure you’re connected to the internet (if sync is needed) and that you’ve saved them properly.
- On audio/video, ensure you’re placing the bookmark after the media has loaded enough—sometimes buffering or delays prevent saving at certain moments.
