Reflowable eBooks adjust their layout according to the size and shape of your screen. This makes them very flexible and easier to read on phones, tablets, or computers, because text, images, and graphics flow naturally without fixed positioning.
Key Interface Elements & Navigation in Reflowable Content
When you open a reflowable eBook in Scroll, you’ll see tools and controls designed to help you navigate smoothly and personalize your reading experience:
- Back to Bookshelf — Return to your Scroll Bookshelf to choose other content.
- Table of Contents (TOC) — Open the content’s TOC to jump directly to chapters, topics, or sub-sections.
- My Data — View your highlights, notes, bookmarks, and any shared annotations.
- Search Within Book — Enter keywords to find exactly what you need inside that content.
- Content Settings Panel — Adjust font style, font size, line spacing, margins, background color, and reading mode (day, night, sepia).
- Prev / Next Navigation — Move forward or backward by chapters or pages.
- Profile Settings — Access your user settings from within the content.
- Print — If allowed, print a single chapter.
- Bookmark — Mark pages you want to return to later.
Detailed Features & How to Use Them
1. Table of Contents & Bookmarks
- Open the TOC panel to view all chapters/sub-chapters. Select a section to go there directly.
- To bookmark a page: use the bookmark icon on the page, give it a custom name if you like, then save.
- All bookmarks are accessible under the Bookmarks tab in the TOC panel. Select a bookmark to return to that page.
2. My Data: Highlights, Notes, & Filtering
- Highlights: Select text press-and-hold (or select and drag), then pick a color to highlight.
- Notes: After highlighting, you can add a “contextual note” tied to that text.

- You can view all of your highlights and notes under My Data.
- There's a filter option so you can view only certain colors, types, or shared vs private notes.

Tips & Troubleshooting
- If text appears too small or cramped, adjust font size, line spacing, or margins.
- If reading in low light, switch to night or sepia mode.
- When using Scroll mode (continuous vertical scrolling), make sure it’s compatible with your device orientation (portrait tends to be better).
- If bookmark, highlight, or note features seem missing, it could be because that particular ePUB was published without them—check with your teacher or your administrator.
- TTS, printing, or search might not be available in all content, depending on permissions set by the content provider or publisher.
